Not easily bottled-up into a single style, guitarist Jules Belmont, has swung for the fences with his music career. From early beginnings in the world-beat genre—to an adolescence touring in reggae and R&B bands—to present day playing stadium tours for Grammy-winning Country artists—he’s certainly charted the path of a seasoned pro.

As a teenager captivated by the rock gods of Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Hendrix, he enrolled in an arts high school to further his craft. It was there he worked under the musical tutelage of revered band leader Mitch Chakour (Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt), discovering an affinity for musical direction and live performance.

He spent his early years touring and opening for the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Average White Band and Christine Oldman (SNL), eventually deciding to further his education at Sarah Lawrence College. There, he studied writing, jazz composition, and the Cuban “tres” guitar at the conservatory, ISA, in Havana, Cuba.

After graduation, Belmont made the move to New York City, where he quickly joined the World-Beat and Latin show circuit, adding his distinct, greasy-roots style playing to the bands Amayo (Antibalas, Dap Kings), Cumbiagra, and the Grammy-winning group Cha Wa. Simultaneously, he maintained a reputation as a sought-after educator while completing a coveted recording internship at the legendary Electric Lady Studios (Jimi Hendrix).

Since 2015, Belmont has lived in Nashville, Tennessee, adding the pedal steel instrument to his repertoire. In a short amount of time, he has leveraged his expertise and singular style to gain connections in the industry and play on countless indie and major label recordings.

Find him on the road with Kendell Marvel, opening for the likes of Chris Stapleton and Kacy Musgraves and other artists like Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Phosphorescent, Kelsey Waldon, Nellen Dryden, and Brent Cobb to name a few. He also composes scores and sound design for TV and film.
